With the theme, โ€œTraining Young Minds to Inspire, Inform, and Ignite Change through Campus Journalism,โ€ this two-day event on September 12โ€“13, 2025 promises to sharpen the skills of budding student journalists and equip them to become agents of truth and change in their own school and community.

This collaborative endeavor will gather junior and senior high school students, school paper advisers, and aspiring campus writers of Manlilisid National High School for a series of intensive workshops, lectures, and interactive sessions.

From mastering the basics of news and opinion writing to learning the ropes of editorial management, multimedia storytelling, and sports reporting, the sessions are designed to provide practical knowledge that participants can immediately apply as they start charting their own student publication.

Representing The Honeycomb, the following editorial board members and advisers are set to serve as facilitators and resource speakers:

Alvin V. Advincula โ€“ Coordinator, The Honeycomb

Romulo D. Reas โ€“ Adviser, The Honeycomb

Lorraine C. Superable โ€“ Editor-in-Chief

John Fritz Cabalhin โ€“ Associate Editor

Helbert Jaima โ€“ Managing Editor

Jonalyn G. Eman โ€“ Head Staff Writer

Rodelyn Petere โ€“ Opinion Editor

Iris Anne Oliveron โ€“ News Editor

Christian Mark Cano โ€“ Creative Team Director

Ivan Rodriguez โ€“ Multimedia Editor

Fernando Manuel Cultura โ€“ Sports Editor

By sharing their experiences in the field of campus journalism, the editorial board of The Honeycomb continues its mission of honing the next generation of storytellers, truth-seekers, and leaders.

This initiative not only strengthens the bond between higher education and secondary schools but also nurtures a culture of responsible journalism that goes beyond winning competitionsโ€”it builds communities informed by truth, inspired by stories, and ignited for positive change.
